I'm still around

I've been working a lot lately & haven't been keeping up too well with this thing. Sorry!

I've now officially been in Wyoming for ONE YEAR. It doesn't seem like it's been that long. I've really enjoyed this state. It's beautiful & has many great wonders to explore.

The people here are friendly, open, and helpful for the most part. There's a good mix of different personality types. There's also a good mix of people who are from here and people who have moved here from other states. I've noticed that a lot of Wyoming towns have some pretty big "small town syndromes" going on, but it's not really that bad where I'm at.

One thing that does bug me is our County Commissioners. They really don't do a good job of listening to & doing what the people want. They also don't make good decisions sometimes, at least not decisions that are good for the county as a whole. Not all their decisions are bad, but they do seem to be more concerned with making sure they aren't perceived as a governmental body that tells people what they can & can't do, then they are with making decisions that actually help the county and the people in it. presence, introduction, or reintroduction of grizzly

Long Time Again

Well, I've received a promotion at work & now between staying outdoors as much as possible and work, I have no computer time. I know, I know. Everyone told me I wouldn't be able to keep this thing updated and you were right. I'm doing my best though. .... Everyone's great here.

No TV!

I just realized that since I now live in a place with so much public land, I hardly ever watch TV. I've missed my usual shows this season (although I don't have to many 'usual' shows anyway). I don't mind at all. Life seems much better when you can hang out outside all day in wide open spaces.

Camping in the great outdoors

This weekend's weather was great! It was in the 70's all weekend, so I went camping. I grabbed my dogs, my friend, my sleeping bag and off we went. We camped out in the middle of nowhere on some BLM land. We saw thousands of stars, thousands of bunnies, and thousands of antelope (pronghorn). You usually don't see the pronghorn at night around here, but they were out on friday and saturday nights! It was a great experience. My first camping trip in Wyoming!

This state is so big, I'm going to be pretty busy this summer enjoying the new sites. I'm so glad I moved here!

Long time no post

I've moved to Wyoming and I'm loving it! I live in the foothills of a gorgeous mountain range and the climate here is great. (The climate is generally harsh throughout wyoming, but we are spared the weather due to the mountains catching the brunt of the weather here). I've been staying so busy that I've been neglecting a lot of my previous chores, like my online activities. Sorry. More to come soon.
